Cryotherapy
What is cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy is based on the ancient practice of using low temperatures to accelerate your body’s natural recovery while improving overall wellbeing and energy.
Cryotherapy is a dry, non-invasive process that lowers your skin temperature during a session of up to 180 seconds.
This process triggers a chemical fight-or-flight reaction in your body that releases endorphins, boosts metabolism, blood circulation, and energy levels.
The Fire & Ice whole-body gas free cryotherapy treatment in Leeds is the safest way to deliver this effective treatment at -85°c.
Is cryotherapy for me?
Today, cryotherapy is used by top athletes and supermodels alike, but the true benefits can be found by anyone who wants to improve their health and wellness. This fabulous treatment is especially suitable if you want to increase vitality, well-being, endurance and reduce pain and fatigue.
You'll also benefit from anti-aging results, improved mental health and weight management.
What are the health benefits of cryotherapy?
Increased energy levels: Cryotherapy enhances your oxygenation and boosts adrenaline and endorphins which reduces fatigue and assists strength and stamina levels pre- and post-exercise or activity.
Recovery: Cryotherapy in sports injuries helps reduces inflammation and muscle fatigue or DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) post work out, which ultimately leads to fast recovery, post exercise or injury.
Anti-inflammatory: Cryotherapy increases vasoconstriction which reduces blood flow, subsequently calming bruising and inflammation around soft tissue injuries, whilst reducing muscle and joint pain.
Pain management: Cryotherapy can benefit medical conditions including fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoarthritis.
Weight loss: Cryotherapy can boost fat metabolism and potentially burn up to 500 calories in the 24 hours following treatment. Combined with exercise and a healthy diet, cryotherapy for weight loss achieves amazing results.
Restores balance: A brief application of extremely low temperature activates the homeostatic mechanism of the body and prevents oxidative stress which causes biological regeneration. This oxygenates the body to improve circulation, deliver vital nutrients to your cells and to enrich the body with oxygen and other essential nutrients.
Mood enhancing: Cryotherapy treatment stimulates a hormone response and releases endorphins, which alleviates stress, anxiety, depression and reduces brain fog.
Sleep quality: Improved sleep quality is an added advantage, as cryotherapy balances your serotonin and melatonin levels.
Improves immunity: Combined with a healthy lifestyle, whole-body cryotherapy enhances our immunity to viruses and common illnesses.
Anti-aging: The use of cold therapy gives your body the ability to neutralise toxins and repair cellular damage. An increased oxygen intake boosts your collagen and elastin, which helps reduce the signs of aging, creating more youthful and smoother looking skin.
Cell rejuvenation: Cryotherapy is a non-invasive, pain free and quick treatment to sooth sore, dry and reddened skin and to help manage skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis.
